Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. It is the main ingredient in Kybella®. When it is injected into the fat beneath the chin, it destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in the fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat.
Other submental fat or fat bulge in other areas of the body can also be treated with the same techniques. This is especially beneficial for treating stubborn body fat that will not go away after hours of work at the gym and months of diets.
